PBIS IS AT WORK AT GARDNER.... (POSITIVE BEHAVIOR INTERVENTIONS & STRATEGIES) PBIS is Gardner’s discipline program. We believe that PREVENTION is better than REACTION.
Each Monday, the "Cool Tool" is taught in the classroom and modeled for the students. Students learn what POSITIVE behaviors are expected and shown what that behavior looks like so there is a clear understanding of what’s expected from them.
Students earn "Character" tickets during the month. The tickets are a reward for students as they are observed following the rules, exhibiting exemplary behavior, and displaying the Gardner spirit. Students save their tickets in order to be eligible for the School-Wide Celebration we hold each month.
Our Next School-Wide Celebration: September ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Character is doing the right thing when nobody’s looking. There are too many people who think that the only thing that’s right is to get by, and the only thing that’s wrong is to get caught." J. C. Watts
