"STUDENT DISMISSAL” POLICY
...A CHANGE IN TRANSPORTATION????
If your child is going home a DIFFERENT way, parents need to notify the office staff by 2:00 in the afternoon. We must receive a phone call or written notice about any change in the way a student is going home. Your child’s safety is very important to us!
Students who are picked up by car are dismissed at 2:55 P.M. each day. If a child is picked up BEFORE that time, he/she is counted as “early dismissal” or leaving before time.
Remember that car riders are to be picked by by 3:15 or be recorded as “late pick ups.” Thanks!
Gardner students are going green again this year by recycling! You will notice our recycling containers in both buildings as you walk down the hallways.
We are accepting: NEWSPAPERS, PAPER, INK CARTRIDGES, CORRUGATED CARDBOARD, PHONE BOOKS, AND CELL PHONES at this time.
Our recyclers will be glad to assist you any time.
We are also collecting Campbell Soup Labels, BoxTops 4 Education and Soft Drink Pull Tabs
Gardner holds the safety of our students and staff first and foremost. The security measures for our school will be reviewed with all staff as well as district personnel. Here are steps we already have in place:
* All buildings have a copy of the HSSD School Emergency and School Crisis and Prevention and Intervention Plan.
* Security cameras (audio and video) are in each classroom and throughout the buildings as well as the outside perimeters. * All visitors to the building are required to sign in through the computer system in our office. * Principals and assistant principals have been asked to review their Crisis Plan with their staff members. * We have school Counselors as well as Community-based Counselors who are available to work with students who may be experiencing anxiety due to recent events.
All of us recognize the tremendous responsibility for keeping your children safe and secure. I pray that our school and schools across the land are safe.
A Special Thank You!
Gardner Magnet School is very appreciative to the Hot Springs Police Department! They have been sending officers by daily to walk through our campus and visit our parking lots. Thanks for keeping us safe!
